Why Software Training Is Part of Onboarding

No two insurance agencies run the same software configuration. Even agencies using the same platform will have different workflows, naming conventions, custom fields, carrier integrations and reporting setups. A staff member trained on one agency's instance of Applied Epic will not be immediately productive on another.

This is why Felcorp treats software training as a core part of onboarding rather than a prerequisite. We do not expect your offshore staff member to arrive pre-trained on your specific system. Instead, we build platform-specific training into the onboarding timeline and complete it in-house before live work begins.

How the Training Process Works

Once your engagement is confirmed and system access is provisioned, Felcorp's onboarding team works through a structured software training process with your allocated staff member. This covers:

  • Platform orientation including navigation, module layout, key screens and core functions relevant to the staff member's role
  • Workflow mapping across the specific insurance processes your staff member will handle, such as policy servicing, renewals, endorsements or claims
  • Data entry standards including your naming conventions, filing structure, required fields and any custom field configurations
  • Carrier and system integrations including carrier download processing, portal access, submission workflows and any third-party tools connected to your platform
  • Quality checkpoints built into the training period so Felcorp management can verify competency before the staff member moves to live production work

The duration of software training varies depending on the complexity of your platform configuration and the scope of work being onboarded. Most training periods run between one and three weeks alongside broader process and compliance onboarding.

What Helps Speed Up the Process

The single biggest factor in training speed is access to learning resources. Agencies that can provide the following during onboarding consistently see faster ramp-up times:

  • Vendor training materials such as platform user guides, video tutorials or e-learning modules provided by your software vendor
  • Vendor support contacts so Felcorp's training team can raise platform-specific questions directly with the provider during onboarding
  • Documented standard operating procedures covering how your agency uses the platform day to day, including any workarounds or agency-specific processes
  • Screen recordings or walkthroughs of key workflows recorded by your existing team showing how tasks are completed in your environment

Where these resources are not available, Felcorp's onboarding team will work directly with the platform provider to source training access and materials. This is managed entirely by Felcorp and does not require your team to coordinate vendor training.

Cost and Time Investment
