What is paraplanning?

How does the paraplanning process work?

What are the different paraplanning engagement models?

There are 3 primary ways advisory firms resource their paraplanning. The right model depends on your file volume, advice complexity, budget and how much control you want over the process.

In-house paraplanner. You hire a paraplanner as a permanent employee. They sit in your office, attend your meetings and work exclusively on your files. This gives you maximum control over process and culture, but it comes with the full cost of employment: salary (£45,000-£70,000+ depending on experience and location), employer pension contributions, holiday pay, office space, equipment and ongoing professional development.

What are the common challenges with paraplanning?
