Employee Onboarding

  • Setting up new employees in payroll software in accordance with Fair Work and ATO requirements.
  • Collecting and securely storing TFN declarations, superannuation standard choice forms, and bank details.
  • Verifying employee identity and eligibility to work in Australia.
  • Applying correct modern award, enterprise agreement, or employment contract pay rates and conditions.

Payroll Processing

Single Touch Payroll (STP) Reporting

  • Preparing and submitting STP pay event files to the ATO for each pay cycle.
  • Ensuring STP data aligns with payroll records and employee year-to-date figures.
  • Assisting with finalisation of STP at year-end for registered BAS/tax agent review.

Payroll Compliance and Record-Keeping

  • Maintaining payroll records for the statutory retention period (minimum 7 years under the Fair Work Act).
  • Keeping accurate timesheets and rosters in accordance with award and enterprise agreement requirements.
  • Updating employee details and pay classifications when changes occur.

End-of-Period and End-of-Year

  • Reconciling payroll accounts at month-end and year-end.
  • Preparing payment summaries and income statements via STP finalisation.
  • Reconciling PAYG withholding accounts for BAS/IAS reporting.
  • Providing payroll reports for management, accountants, or auditors.

Employee Offboarding

  • Calculating and processing final pay, including unused leave entitlements, in accordance with Fair Work and contractual requirements.
  • Issuing employment separation certificates if requested.
  • Updating STP reporting for employee cessation
